A prótese bucomaxilofacial tem como objetivo a reabilitação de indivíduos com deformidades craniofaciais, decorrentes de traumatismos, más formações congênitas ou tumores. Muitas pesquisas foram realizadas para melhorar a estabilidade e retenção das próteses em pacientes mutilados.
